The Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission (GWIC) and Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW), with support from NSW Greyhound Breeders Owners & Trainers Association (GBOTA) and Greyhound Clubs NSW (GCNSW), agreed on two major industry strategies at an historic summit in September 2023 focused on rehoming pathways for retired greyhounds and steps to significantly reduce the prevalence of prohibited substances.

The Prohibited Substances Action Plan includes strategies that reduce the incidence of positive swabs in the sport utilising a prohibited substances checker smartphone app to educate and inform in a world first.
