Industry updates / GWIC announces fee reduction

From 1 July 2019, the Commission will be a decreasing fees for Greyhound Naming Applications and Litter Registrations.

Since its commencement on 1 July 2018 the Commission has been working hard to introduce better, more efficient services for participants.

The recent introduction of online services has made the processing of these transactions more efficient, so the Commission can now pass on these savings to participants.

Greyhound Naming Applications are currently $80 and Litter Registrations are $150, both of these will be reduced to just $50 each from 1 July 2019.

The Greyhound Naming Application cost covers a $35 Greyhound Racing Australasia fee, with the remaining $15 received by the Commission to process the application.

The Commission will be introducing additional online services over the next six months, and will continue to review fees to ensure savings are passed on to participants where possible.

Any naming or litter applications received by the Commission and not yet processed, will be held until the 1 July 2019 to ensure those participants receive the saving. Any participants with pending applications who would like their application processed without delay at the current fee, are encouraged to contact the Commission.
