Industry updates / COVID-19 Update

With tightened restrictions introduced across Greater Sydney, the Central Coast and Wollongong, it is more important than ever for participants and staff to ensure they are complying with the current NSW Health Orders in order for greyhound racing to continue in NSW.

It is critical to check the list of exposure sites in NSW on a daily basis. Anyone who receives notification that they are a close contact must seek a COVID-19 test and self-isolate for 14 days. Casual contacts should do the same until they receive a negative COVID-19 test result. Importantly, close and casual contacts should not attend race meetings. Further, those persons must provide GWIC with a negative COVID-19 test result and not attend a racecourse until such time as approval is given from GWIC to resume attendance. Evidence of the test result can be sent to louis.saperas@gwic.nsw.gov.au

Races will continue in their allocated zones with essential personnel only permitted to attend. Participants and staff must wear a face mask at all times, keep at least 1.5m away from others, as well as wash and sanitise their hands thoroughly and regularly. Participants should travel directly to the track, do not stop along the way, avoid carpooling and go straight home after the meeting.

Please do not attend the track if you have even the slightest cold or flu like symptoms.

We have been fortunate to continue racing throughout the pandemic. Please remain vigilant and look out for one another to ensure this can continue.

Wear a mask, keep your distance, wash hands regularly
