Industry updates / COVID 19 Restrictions: Hunter Region to operate in Zone 3

As a result of the NSW Government's latest lockdown imposed upon the Hunter Region, GRNSW has introduced a third racing zone that allows racing to continue in the Hunter Region under strict COVID-19 protocols.

Zone 3 is made up of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens, Cessnock, Dungog, Singleton and Muswellbrook Local Government Areas. Participants in these LGAs may only nominate for races within this Zone (Maitland and The Gardens) while the Government's latest 'Stay at Home' orders are in place. The orders commence at 5pm today (5 August 2021) and will last for seven days.

Participants outside of Zone 3 who have greyhounds drawn to compete at The Gardens on Friday (6 August) and Saturday (7 August) must not attend these meetings.

A reminder that participants in Zone 1, 2 or 3 cannot travel outside of their zones for the purpose of greyhound racing.
