Integrity / Final Disciplinary Action Decisions

A Disciplinary Action Guide is a simple overview of the Commission's disciplinary action process. It includes information on the Commission's regulatory powers, the process that is followed for prohibited substance and conduct matters, information on interim disciplinary action, the Commission's decision-makers and the appeal process.

The Compliance and Enforcement Explanatory Guide provides a comprehensive explanation of how the Commission goes about its regulatory role, including its approach to taking disciplinary action against non-compliance by greyhound racing industry participants.

The Commission has also developed Penalty Guidelines to provide advice to participants about the possible penalties that may be imposed after an offence is proven.

Participants are reminded that anyone dealing with or associating with a disqualified person may be in breach of the Racing Rules and subject to disciplinary action.

From 1 May 2022, an updated version of the Greyhound Racing Rule came into effect and the numbering of rules has changed. For example, rules relating to prohibited substances are R141 and R142. A rule number index that compares the previous rule numbering to the current rules can be found here.

Lee, Gordon R21(3), R21(1)(c), R151(1) & (2), R156 (i) Charge 1 (Rule 21(3))
Mr Gordon Lee, permitted the condition of his registered premises to be in a condition that was likely to be dangerous to the health, welfare or safety of any greyhound in his custody.
Charge 2 (Rule 21(1)(c))
Mr Gordon Lee, failed to keep the kennels at his registered premises in a clean and sanitary condition.
Charge 3 (Rule 151)
Mr Gordon Lee, failed to keep and produce treatment records relating to greyhounds in his care.
Charge 4 (Rule 156(i))
Mr Gordon Lee, prevented GWIC inspectors from entering his property for the purposes of carrying out a kennel inspection.		 Charge 1: 4-month, 2-week disqualification;
Charge 2: 3-month suspension;
Charge 3: Fine of $500.00
Charge 4: 9-month disqualification;

Mr Michael Lee, between the dates of 10 November 2022 and 24 January 2023 failed to keep the kennels at his registered premises in a clean and sanitary condition.
Charge 3 (Rule 151 (1) and (2))
Mr Michael Lee, failed to keep and produce treatment records relating to greyhounds in his care.		 Charge 1: 4-month, 2-week disqualification;
Charge 2: 3-month suspension;
Charge 3: Fine of $375.00

Lee, Jennifer R156 (i) Ms Jennifer Lee, prevented GWIC inspectors from entering her property for the purposes of carrying out a kennel inspection. Disqualification: 9 months.
The commencement date of this penalty is backdated to 5 December 2022, the date that Ms Lee was suspended on an interim basis. Ms Lee will be eligible to re-apply for registration from 6 September 2023.		 08/08/2023 View
